It's 5:09 in the morning; I woke up about a half an hour ago and am wide awake. I mean really, how fucking childish is this? Am I so excited about St. Nicks visit that I can't sleep? In reality I can't stop thinking about what I'm giving others this year and am eagerly anticipating their reactions. I only went to bed five hours ago so I must sleep but I figured that perhaps a little cathartic release would be a good thing. Now, I shall rest my head again and count pieces of double-sided tape and yards of imaginary ribbon.

found this little gem while wondering through the guts of my computer at work
I found this while cleaning up my computer. Almost 6 months ago I started and today was my last day. I never finished my trip notes but I can provide for you what I had until I stopped (this was written July 2nd). Enjoy the read and have a merry merry holiday.

There’s nothing worst then reading a step-by-step break down of anything, especially travel. At first it’s good, enjoyable, and easily accessible, but it soon it turns into a slide show. I’ll explain. Friends get back from some far away destination and have all these pictures and stories to share. Most of the stories are pure shit and nine times out of ten they end with “I guess you had to be there.” Then they show you their pictures of their trip and somewhere in the middle of the third photo album your eyes are wondering around the room scanning for an object that would be suitable to impale yourself on. So, I’m left with the question of how to make travel interesting without making the reader feel jealous and wanting to kill themselves because they will never, nor could they ever, have such a wonderful, fruitful, and fulfilling vacation. I’ll do my best to prevent the aforementioned from occurring.
Thursday the 30th of June of Grad. It was my last day of work and my final duty was to work the digital video camera for the ceremony, which in turn was projected on a big screen. The problem was that the projectors were shit and the entire exercise was in vain. Some things need to be worked out to make it worth while. The worst part however of graduation was not the video, or the students, not the speeches, the MC’s, the lack of pyrotechnics, or the musical interludes. The worst part of graduation was the parents (or to be more specific, the audience which consists mostly of parents, apparently a rather large number of intellectually stunted parent). At the end of the ceremony, when the names of the graduates were being announces parents were coming down the floor (the ceremony is in a hockey arena) and taking pictures. While, by the time that half of the students had been announced the floor was filled with parents and family members. So the people that got called last basically got screwed and no one heard their names or saw their faces. I was a little disappointed in humanity. Common sense does not exist, but sense, I’m sure, must exist on some plane. This entire group of people had no fucking sense of courtesy, civility, decency, or respect (while okay, a whole shit load of them didn’t, some remained in the stands; thank you for respecting the graduates.). Graduation is ridiculous fanfare anyhow, but if you’re going to do it, you may as respect it.
Directly after the ceremony I was off to Edmonton. I like driving alone because I like to blast the music, sing the entire way there, stop when I want, and so on. This time I gave a friend of mine a ride down. This friend we will call, Mich, but his real name sounds more like bile, and it starts with a K. Anyhow, Mich was a wonderful travel companion, he shared some great music with me and we had some great conversations. I got into Edmonton at about 2:30 in the morning, making the trip in about seven hours (hour lost because of the time change). I had never left so late in the day (about 6:30), but it really wasn’t that bad. I was awake and aware, and Mich’s charming company kept me awake. I’m rambling.
Things worth mentioning. The beaver in Beaver Lodge is the ugliest city place-marker I have ever seen. It’s big, ugly, and scary looking; it looks like it should be the mascot for a nuclear waste corporation because it looks like a fucking radiated menace that’s going to eat you and gnaw off King Kong’s legs.

it's all done
I have finished my Christmas letter. Running time: 1550 words (of gold). Many of you will be getting it in the mail soon, others will only hear about it and wonder how I could have possible forgotten about you. Remember that i have a huge family and paper, pictures, envelopes, and stamps cost money and if you don't get one it's not because I don't love you, it's just that I don't love you as much as I love others. Kidding... it's just an over site I'm sure.
I'm going to bed... oh, and it's a generic christmas letter so if you want it and don't get it... email me.

P.S. Narnia is worth seeing. Right now in fact. Go.

something funny to watch
Check out this great segment on gay marriage from Ed Helms withThe Daily Show. So very funny.
I have been feeling like shit all day today and really haven't left the couch. I have had a cold for the last week and I'm getting damn tired of it. I took three Tylenol though and drank some coffee and now I'm wide awake; it probably doesn't helps that I slept away half of the afternoon so now I don't feel like going to bed.

Also I wanted to share a little poem with you that I wrote a while ago while in a meeting with Apple.

I'm gonna blow um up at midnight too. Unless of course I get my three demands: hundred thousand in cash, getaway car, and I want the letter M stricken from the english language. I'm making the switch. Please change my email address in you address book to my gmail account. Don't know what it is? Email me and I'll tell you... it's my name first and my last name, no spaces, @gmail.com
Thank you.
If you're wondering why? I switching to mail.app (an Apple program that I use at work and love) and the hotmail support in that program is crap; rather there is no support. I currently use Entourage, by Microsoft, and because hotmail is owned by Microsoft it is supported (though they tell me that this support will be weaned off).

back to work.
The rest of the country has fairly poor coverage of the teacher strike so I'll just tell you. The teachers voted 77% in favour of accepting the proposal and will be going back to work tomorrow. For me this means that after two weeks and one day I'm going back to work tomorrow.
I'm not really ready to go back but I need the money and all good things must come to an end. Also, I guess that it's a good thing that we're going back on a Monday rather then a Friday.
Thank you in advance for your tears of sympathy (that's a joke...).

my trip to Edmonton
I haven't had a chance yet to post anything about my trip to Edmonton last week. As my typing has seemed faster then usual today I thought that I would quickly give you the rocken awesome run down so that you're in the loop (not that crazy loop in the nephron of the kidney [10 points for anyone who can tell me what the hell I'm talking about]).
Last week. I had thought about going to Edmonton as the teachers in BC are on Strike and my union (the Carpenters and Joiner) will not cross. The strike is not really a strike, we're calling it civil disobedience (a strike would be illegal). So Thanksgiving weekend ended and I decided Monday morning that I needed to get out and that this was the perfect opportunity. I arranged everything with my union and employer should the strike have ended sooner then later (it didn't, we're still on strike and tomorrow will be day 11). I left at something like 12:30 and got there at say 8. It's now time for a new paragraph.
Monday was a little drinking and catching up with M and F. What else would one do in such a situation as catching up but drink (if not just tea, or perhaps a blended drink made of the pedals of flowers); we had beer, wine, and I even had a harvey wallbanger. If you likey the screwdriver I highly recommend a slow and gentle journey back to the bar of the 70's. M told me of the slow comfortable screw against the wall (10 more points if you can name the drink items without our-sourcing, going to webtender.com, or calling a friend). Monday is now done. Set your jet packs down and relax because at the end of that night I went to sleep.
Tuesday I awoke with an odd feeling in my tummy. Oh shit. So, from out of nowhere the Flu decided to creep up on me and fuck with all my plans. The great thing about this trip was that there weren't really any plans so there wasn't much to fuck up. We still went to Lunch (OPM is how you spell delicious in the world of Asian-Fusion) and it was amazing but at the same time my tummy was telling me that drunken-chicken was the spawn of satan and that like devil eggs had just been planted in my stomach; that I would bear the child of satan (this didn't come to pass thankfully, but at the time I was pretty sure that this was the case). Ikea in Swedish I think means cheep shit that you have to buy because you think that it's simply timeless (timeless in Svedin mean about 6-8 months). Nonetheless, I love the bi-yearly trip to Ikea. This time I was very good and only bought things that I knew I would love. I didn't buy anything for anyone else because frankly, I'm a self absorbed son of a short lady that has a name that starts with a K. -- I figured we'd be back and did the other people ikea buying later -- I bought slippers for myself and a bunch of frames for the business (oh right R, I didn't show you those... remind me). Tuesday night was A and W (that's ME!) time. We walked down the concourse of the shittiest mall, strike that. The Capilano Mall was charming in a kind of small town " this is a unique cultural experience that I can't get in a big city" kind of way; then I realized that I was in a big city and promptly shit my pants. No... that wasn't me. My memory is foggy, the Flu (not avian I don't think) was setting in. I think that it was my walking and scarf shopping ally that expressed her displeasure for the mall... if you'd like to tell that story A, please do so in the comments, we'd love to hear.
Wednesday. The flu had taken me and I spent the entire day hugging the toilet and reclaiming my faith in Jesus just to ask him to strike me down with lightening as to end the suffering and the displeasures of life itself. That didn't really happen; I don't remember throwing up from the flu ever. We went to lunch and I got to go back to my Alma-mater; M and I even got to stroll down Alumni Lane (proclaiming, "this was my university once, I paid for this lane, get the fuck out of my way or my friend M will have to blight you with the end of a miniature ceremonial mace from the dollar store [this is mostly bullshit too]). After a refreshing bowl of Cream of Broccoli and Cheese soup and some really buttery toast M and I wandered off to the dollar store (sorry, it wasn't the dollar store at all, I'm tired and need to keep writing about dollar stores because I felt that that last joke was so damn good that I should just keep flogging it and I can't seem to get it out of my head, and ahhhhhhh; right. you're still reading?) we went to the exact opposite of a dollar store, we went to the biggest most opulent mall in the world; anything you want, you got it, anything you need, you got it, anything at all, you got it... (name the song for 10 more fucking arbitrary points). West Edmonton Mall was the destination, the goal, both M and W come out alive and with more underwares then when we went in with. I succeeded with 6 pairs, M with (?) [if you feel like telling everyone just how many scanties you purchased you can kindly do so in the comments {I don't want to reveal to much}]. I love underwear shopping and I sincerely wish that there was more selection for men; thank googly woogly for the Bay and Sears. Really, they have the nice stuff from designers as well as the shitty stuff that many a wives buy for their husbands who really don't care what holds the package as long as it does just that and they don't get hounded in the locker room because they're wearing blue horizontal stripes and it makes them look fat. All right... the shopping was throughly exhausting. I have an idea, lets make the flooring in malls out of rubber.. people will stay longer because they'll still have feeling in their legs, and when there's feeling in the legs there's still shopping in the blood. (I'm not an Engineer and this commentary is purely anecdotal). I did buy some gifts, pants, cd's, underwear (naturally), some mags, books, and a video on fly fishing (2 points for the first sleuth to determine which of the aforementioned in a bold faced lie).
Okay, there is so much more but i need to read over this still (I just read it and I really suck at editing my own writing; it makes sense to me) and it's really late. I'll continue the post another night. Keep unfit and have no fun.

my response
Fella asked me for an email containing more than three lines; this was my response.
I hope you enjoyed that as much as we did.
Wader
So, in order to preserve our friendship I'm going to attempt to write more than three lines. The email naturally will explain, in great depth, the beauty and perfection of three lines. Three lines isn't four and it isn't two, it isn't more and it isn't less, it's exactly what it is and for that it is it. Three lines is enough for a haiku. Some of the most charming and decadent poetry comes from three lines. In fact, it is often argued that William Carlos Williams wrote one too many lines and that the Red Wheelbarrow could have been so much more (an American classic, rather then a cult classic). Three lines is enough to tell someone that they are not only alive but care enough to respond instantly rather then waiting till such a time when emailing would be appropriate. Three itself is an idyllic number, it's revered in the world of the occult for it's strength and prowess. Three is more then a couple, it's a few. By finding the love factor and squaring it, then adding the quotient of admiration the exact number is three. It is prudent to have three legs for a tripod. Keep in mind that if it wasn't for the number three there would be no need for a four or a five, but thankfully there is a need for three and so we also have six (two threes put together). If you're trying to get rid of an atrocious headache 3 Tylenol are often enough. What else can be said about the number three? How about that it's the sexiest of all the numbers. Thirty three is too opulent, and any other combination (eg 333) is just ridiculous; it looks rather, no, is extremely silly.
I hope you enjoyed that as much as we did.

and then I say... goodnight
After work I went to pick up some groceries at the newly renovated Safeway. I for got that it was the grand opening and fuck was it busy. I couldn't believe it, I spent most of my time talking to people (that I didn't want to talk to) and trying desperately to avoid people. Keeping my glances low and looking far to longingly at the muffins. So what is my review of the new Safeway? Fucking amazing. Fort St. John has grown so much this summer. We have a new McDonalds (not new but twice as big and full of plush dark woods, nice tile, and the biggest play area I've seen since the nights I spend in Michael's bedroom (minus the porn). Back to the Safeway; the colours, the lighting, and displays, the signs, the hardwood floors, all simply amazing. Not to mention that Fort St. John now has a bloody Starbucks. The cool thing is that if you use your Safeway card your coffee's are counted up; after 7 beverages bought the eighth is free (and you don't need stupid stamps). It's a nice place but I don't think I'll be back until it's died down a little, it was so busy with all the consumers, the sample people, the people walking around with sample trays, the workers roaming to help people out, and every lane had a teller and a bag boy (or person if you will). It's was like disneyland only I knew everyone and wanted for nothing but to be out of there. I did purchase a coffee but the way; and it was good.

In other news I'm sick and didn't go into work today. I hate being sick and it seems that it's a more regular occurrence the older I get.
Anyhow. American Spender is a great movie, and is so so so much better then the often touted Sideways (which blew).
I also bought a magazine that I didn't even know existed. I'm reading it and it's good, I'm even recommending it; Psychology Today.
That's all.

The coolest thing
Went to a dinner party tonight as there were the cutest 3 year old there. His mother speaks Portuguese and English and so does he. He's very smart and quick witted for a three year old. So at the supper table we had English, French (a couple people spoke it) and Portuguese (as the child goes back and forth no problem). It was really amazing what the young mind is capable of. Charming and worldly are the words I'd use to describe tonight.

• microsoft word is the worst program you can image for doing any kind of layout work. It's a word processor, why are people using for layout?
•Moulin Rouge is one of the best movies that has ever, and possibly will ever be made. The bonus features make we want to strike up a career in set design (pun completely and totally intended).
•Corner gas is just that; a gas. If you haven't seen it, you should. Rent it from a video store and watch the episodes in succession, it's better that way.
•Seinfeld is pure gold. Pure goodness. I have the DVDs (as I don't have TV right now) and it's pretty much the best thing since _______(enter some show that is older then Seinfeld that you really like; an example could be MASH).

Listening to CBC
CBC has voted to go on strike... no more info on that though, so I wait. I'm listening to a new show on CBC right now and it's really quite good. It's nice not to have TV some times. The new show is called Fuse and it's quite good. They get to artists from different cities in Canada (somewhat famous, like the leads from Teenage Head, and Junk House). And they go acoustic and kind of play together and Fuse (get it) their sounds. It's quite good. Well worth the listen. Hopefully it'll be made into a podcast.

no more
The pictures I've been wanting to post are now posted. It feels good to have that done. I am going to post part one of my trip and it may take a while to complete... or it might never get completed but this is what I wrote on the plane. Don't forget to check out my flickr site, pictures are on the right.
Part II coming soon.

Piss off.
That what this is. I have too much to do in the next couple days and then other things keep on getting piled on top. For example, I was going to house sit for D and F. There's no dog, the house is comfortable, and so on. Now I get an email from my mother questioning me because apparently they need a house sitter also, because apparently they too are going on vacation (but no one fucking told me). What to do? Expectations are starting to piss me off here. Perhaps I'll just say where I am and house sit for both people by just taking care of their houses... you know, water the plants and so on.
I have to clean my room at my parents house, it's been months and I really should do it.
I have to pack all my school stuff and put it somewhere.
I have to clean my car inside and out.
I have to pick up my drums and get the wood for my art project cut (both at my uncle's)
I have to bottle wine.
Get american money.
Pack.
Find my bloody birth certificate.
Gosh!
Alright I'm a little more relaxed now. Ciao.

more and more
I realize that it's damn near impossible to be creative with the titles of these posts. I'll do my best.
oooo. elton just came, on, iTunes. the correct emphasis matters in this sentence.
What a weekend, Friday night, Saturday night and a Sunday night thrown in for good measure. The structure of the weekend was not that unique; regular and unchanging, to be fair. Thinking back... Friday I had a nice supper, good company and a fetching pre-oscar party (one of these thing is a lie). Saturday, the canola fest. This deserves a full article of it's own, even if it turns out to be shorter then a little persons little finger, it won't get that though. It'll get a paragraph.
What the hell happened. The last three year the canola fest have been great. Lots of great music, goings ons, entertainment, and in general, people. This year it was so poorly attended that it looked like David Koresh had a revival meeting before I got there. (in poor taste?). The set up was okay but they didn't advertise the thing well enough. The weather wasn't great but it wasn't bad enough to keep people in the house as if they were Anne Frank. (in poor taste?). I think the worst part though is the name. It's called the Canola Fest. I mean, if I didn't know it might be misconstrued as a UFA meeting. (in poor taste?). The original reason for the name, for those playing at home, was because the first year it was held it was in August, when the canola was in bloom (if you're ignorant or simply don't care about botany, canola is a geneticly altered version of rape seed. It's often used to create oil and is even used in the holy goodness that is margarine [I prefer butter, utterly prefer {bad taste} butter]. +I don't know how to use brackets in bracket and I just ran out of styles.+ I guess that it's a good thing we grow canola in this area, no one would go to a rape festival). I stayed for a couple acts, drank a coffee, then regained my senses.
Otherwise, on Saturday, I died my hair... you'll see pictures on Flickr soon, until then guess what colour in the comments. Saturday night brought a poker party and I now have confirmed my suspicions. If I'm at a party with a bunch of straight girls and straight boys and the boys are playing in poker in one room and the girls are dancing in the other room, I'll be with the girls. And I did correctly predict that. Then we went to the bar. In general I had a great night. I would have liked it to be in another bar, in another city, and I would have substituted some of the people with smarter people that we're as equally good looking, and the gay boy ratio would have surely been higher. As the circumstances were, I did have a good time and I was nice to not have restriction, constriction, and impediment hanging over me (speaking to how with work I always feel guilty when I have things to do and am procrastinating by having fun). I was DD and even then it was a blast. While at the house (over several hours) I did mix myself a drink. I can recommend this. Kola Bombay (a joint creation), get Koala Kola carbonated beverage in any of their refreshing flavours and mix with a good gin and a twist of lime. Thanks for the dancing R. Wonderful.
Sunday, bought a new jacket, a kind of 70's soccer jack. I bought new socks and a pair of pants. I didn't need more pants but I needed to fill that vacuumous void that is my soulless life (perhaps I should stop reading AdBusters). I had a fetching shopping partner and she even ended up buying a couple of dashing shirts (made of 100% fetching). Had a wonderful brazilian supper and even got to do some writing (I'm in the midst of that process right now, but I'm referring to it in post tense, sorry to confuse). Oh, I cleaned the house, took care of a fur problem, took out the garbage, did laundry, and more!
That's all. I have three more days, then grad then I'm off to Edmonton. I'll be there on Friday and staying till Monday. Then to ND. and so on.
Can't wait.
Till later

Testing the validity of notion
So. I'm here on a Saturday afternoon in my room getting ready to go out yet again. I went out for a fetching lunch then Fella and I were off to buy some foamcore. It's a product that one would think every stationary store would have. You'd be wrong it you thought that. Walmart (aka SinMart) was the only one in town that carried it. This is why Walmart is big and only growing. They have the common shit that every outlet would/should have. Not the unique interesting things, but they have the big shit, the common shit; the shit that every bloddy stationary store should have. And I think that the workers at Walmart may even be nicer then one of the morons that we ran into. I mean really, we're the customer. Sure, we'll have a great day, thanks for not bring it up. Whatever the case... we have the foam core which we will use as a reflector panel for todays prom in the forest shots.
I hate Walmart. Yes. I hate when local buisnesses complain that Walmart is putting them out of buisness when they have shitty attitudes, shitty service, and most of all, a lack of what the customer requires. Blow me.

I just saw
On Global that the 300th eppisode of "Train 48" is going to be broadcast in a few short days. I can wait! Who the hell is watching this show? Really, it's brutal, why would it even get to one eppisode? I'm confused. Canadian content is great but if it's so aweful that no one wants to watch it then why keep on making it? "Corner Gas" isn't an example of this. It's acctually a very good show.

My flickr stream
I've finally done it. I have broken the 2000 mark on my flickr site. Over 2000 people have logged onto my stream and looked at my pictures. People from all over the world, even one leaving a comment in a different language. It's a unique medium because it transcends language, it's a visual medium that knows no bounds.
The picture to the right has been viewed 130 alone (the number one viewed picture in my stream).
In other news, the first term is almost over and things are getting hairy. Today we had a three hour staff meeting and I didn't think it would ever end. We have a new late policy... every teacher will close the door at the ring of the bell. We then decide what to do with students; if it's chronic then we move to disciplinary actions with the administration. I wonder if we should care or worry about attendance at all?
Anyhow, it's time for me to make dinner. Have a great night all (day).

We then decide what to do with students; if it's chronic then we move to disciplinary actions with the administration. I wonder if we should care or worry about attendance at all?
Anyhow, it's time for me to make dinner. Have a great night all (day).

My Audience Review of Sahara
I have my own opinions, as always, but I think that today -rather the spouting off about what a plotless excuse to have a sidekick have a homo-erotic fixation with the lead Sahara apparently was- I will give you what I perceived as the reactions around me to be; or, what the people around R and I would have said when interviewed in the lobby by the studio so that their exuberance for the film could be turned into a commercial a couple weeks after release (translation, these people liked the movie, they're normal. Hey, you're normal too!!! Perhaps you'll like it like these normal people did).
Think of that laugh that only comes from the mentally retarded and the drunk. That laugh that is deep, bellows, and echos in the whole theatre. I man behind us was so thoroughly enjoying this -a movie that's plot had more holes in it then every bullet to that was expelled from a gun and pierced through something during the duration of the movie (a fuck load)- movie that he had to comment on the movie or replay a line that was just said; for example, Matthew's character (we're on a first name basis) might say something like "well, that was fun," man behind would then laugh heartily and say "that was fun," in an ironic, that McConaughey is so witty, kind of way. Poor example as I can't remember anything that he said anytime he spoke as he simply couldn't be heard over the grinding of my teeth.
At this time I would also like to apologize for any bruises on R's legs, as every time some fucking in-bred in the theatre opened their mouth all that came out was something that was anything but funny and in return I would uncontrollably grab her leg and simultaneously blood vessels would explode in my eyes. If you're going to talk, be funny. I tell my students that, perhaps you'll remember, "no talking during the movie, unless you're making fun of it." Here is an example of acceptalbe; you been watching Mystery Alaska and the guy prematurely ejaculates in the cab of the truck, you say (and this is something friend DF said in the old Lido) "is skating is good, but he could use some work on the stick handling." When said loud enough it was able to get the best laugh from the theatre of the entire movie. An example of unacceptable theatre talking; "hu, he's going to take the car," or "I don't get it." or "is that Matthew Perry?" or "what'd I miss" or "that's so funny" or "ha ha ha my stupid little laser pointer is on the screen, and I'm retarded."
The ladies beside R were quite interesting too. Periodically leaving (presumably) to get another extra-mega-uber-large bucket of popcorn to fill the faces to expand there already largess waistlines. They too liked the movie.
The buzz when leaving the theatre was one of enjoyment. People seemed to be talking about the movie as we left, and if you are not a fan of actors that are able to act, or movies that have plots or believability, I can see why they enjoyed the movie such as they did. As one enthusiastic movie goer said, "that rocked."
Wader
P.S. I didn't mind the movie. I thought the movie viewers were funnier then the movie. It was a good summer-time big-budget movie that was big loud and not too painful to watch.
P.P.S. I think I'm using the hyphen wrong. Any advice would be helpful.

Petitions.
I found this article on the Mike Matas blog (and another prominent blogger trying to drum up more support on Aaron Swartz's blog here). It talks about the grass root effort to save the best show on TV, Arrested Development.
Then I checked www.petitiononline.com and found this petition. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend that you watch a few shows and sign the petition, or take my word and join the 35000 that have already signed.
I also found this one demanding that Ashley Simpson stop singing, modeling, acting, recording... really to just. stop.
That's what's funny tonight (not the Arrested Development bit, that's serious, and it's not a bit, but the show itself it hilarious. I guess the show is funny but the situation isn't. Life is so unfair).

All four of us are shooting at that moment or shortly there after. Two of us are shooting with digital rebels and the other two with film rebels. We call ourselves "team rebel." Before colour there was only rods, no cones (or the other way around, beats me). I just thought I'd share this picture with you as I think it's one of the best pictures I've ever seen of me. The balance, the harmony, the solidarity, the celerity, the mastication, the popcorn... everything.

We went to a potluck dinner at a friend's house but they were going to be taking care of almost every dish so we thought that we would sculpt something for the party. A post a year and a half in the making
I found this journal entry in a drama response journal - the date is indicated. I have not edited the original and, as per usual, it's riddled with mistakes. It's interesting to read back and find out where I was a over a year ago. I know that the word "fetching" had not yet entered my vernacular, nor had the word "vernacular" entered my vocabulary. The word "verbatim" however, was already present (thanks mom). The entry is coming, hold your horse. I think that the format for the journal is really unique. It makes you think about what is around you and how your interaction(s) with the environment around you affect your well being and state of mind (possibly a redundant sentence). Hence forth here is the entry... I don't think it's too personal but if you find it to be I ask that you simply close your eyes and cover your ears.
That's all friends.

Date: September 10/03
Temp: Very warm, in the 20s at 9:00 at night.
Time: 10:00pm
Mood: I’m removed. When you get really worn down and tired and it feels like you’re just going through the motions but not actually an active participant. It’s almost like I’m on the outside looking in at myself.
Visual: I saw a guy on his bike and he was totally decked out with all the gear, side bags, bells, whistles, reflector, all the proper clothing and so on. I got on my bike with just a bag on my back and a helmet on my head. I then proceeded to speed past him due to the fact that I’m on a 10 speed and he was riding a mountain bike. I just thought it was kind of funny.
Sound: Fire alarms. I had two today, they were the first I’d experienced in four years, since high school. Annoying as hell, but class gets out early.
Taste: Ham, ham, ham and more ham. I’m really tired of ham but I buy it because it’s on sale and then because I’m at the U for summer I bring another sandwich.
Texture: The seats in Tory lecture theatre after 3 hours of lecture. It wreaks havoc on the ass. I think that premolded plastic seats should always come with upholstery.
Scent: Laundry right out of dryer. I hate doing laundry but the fresh bounce smell is almost worth is. After my night class I rushed home and did laundry then ran out for groceries. What a day.
Daily thought: After my Tuesday into. to counseling class all I can think about is what I’m going to do in 8 months. Perhaps I’ll come back and start masters work right away. I’ve been reflecting on myself as a person and thinking about whether I’d do a great job; mediocre is not good enough.
Daily spark: My professor today was completely inspiring. The class is witchcraft and the occult. Basically it’s him in general, but specifically he talked about not having to subscribe to a specific religion to reap the same benefits. Religion provides some sort of self-satisfaction through worship. He argued that the same could be achieved through meditation and self-reflection.
Double Dare: Go skydiving. I’m not sure if it classifies as a double dare because I will surely in time go skydiving, but not right away due to finances.
That's all friends.

A Gifted Contest
I'm proud to announce a new contest. A while back the comments section helped me to name my car. I like it when things have names; inanimate objects with names make then more desirable and personal. So I'm going to give you an object and I'd like for you to use the comments section to suggest possible names.
The first object...
I'm thinking of names like, Zippy, Pinky, Mabel... you get the idea. I don't have a vibrator but I think it could have some very interesting names.
You turn!
What is new? Well I'm back in FSJ after a fan-fucking-tastic trip. Thank you to all of you that helped to make it so good. I love you all. Look to the lower right for more pictures that will be updated and added to.
Till later.

"The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the soul at rest. The repose of the night does not belong to us. It is not the possession of our being. Sleep opens within us an inn for phantoms. In the morning we must sweep out the shadows."

Ladies and Gentlemen, please permit me to introduce to you, "The Line Dancing Grannies." Lights go up to wild (perhaps a gross exaggeration) applause. .. these ladies made me laugh the whole song through. These wonderful ladies, that are desperately close to using walkers for the show, counted every step and landed a good half of them. They were wonderful!

What a week.
I'm moving out. I have to paint my room before I move in. Not have to, want to, I think it'll be nice to move into something that it mine, and that I choose and created. Luckily I have the owner, the real owner, of the houses' blessing (apostrophe use?). What else? Well, I'm nearly done with the program for the musical (I created the poster also... it's on the right in my flickr photo stream). I gave an email inservice today and it was somewhat daunting as the director of instruction for the district was sitting right there taking my session in. It went well though and I think everyone was happy with it. I had my last day of my old job today; I hope that the sub, a girl I went to school with and was in band with, faired okay. Other then moving out, brand new job, painting room, finishing old job, inservice, and poster, I also am typing on my brand new 12" PowerBook, and it is sweet!!! It's a little bit of deja view as it seems like I have never been without. I know though that my old PB is in good, and caring hands.
I hope that all is well. Miss you all.

Ordered a new computer... and more!!!
I ordered a new computer as well as a mini-DVI to video and an ADC-DVI converter. I did this last night at 11:15. It said that the latter (the converter) would ship in three to four weeks, and the other two items in 1 to 2 days. Typical of Apple's shitty shipping hypothesis, the mini-DVI and ADC-DVI converter shipped today. The Powerbook should ship tomorrow. And the excitement mounts.

Mr. K
What a crazy week. Here's the exciting run down and how I've managed to work for three different unions in leff then 8 months.
Monday a job was posted locally for a Social Studies Teacher. I was sick on Tuesday when it was faxed out; but I got an email from my Aunt telling me about it. Wednesday I applied and interviewed. To find out "after 4:00" on Friday.
Thursday and Friday I worked. I was supposed to be studying for my Apple Exams which were going to be on Friday originally. You see, if I got the Job had a lot of things I needed to get in order. 6 months of files and thing that I did and had to teach others.
Friday was a long day waiting for the decision, plus my car was in the garage getting the command start fixed... again. 4:00 comes around, 4:02 still nothing.... Finally, at quitting time (4:30) I phoned the auto-glass shop that was working on my command start. I've seen the guy enough and we have a good relationship and he was trying to be funny "do you needed your car for the next two days?" ha ha fucking ha.... is it ready! I hung up the phone and it rang a few seconds after I put it down. I thought it was the same a when an answering machine calls you back, but it wasn't. It was the principal of the high-school offering me a job at 4:31.
Yesterday I was at work till 9pm getting started on a video editing project for a recruiting campaign in Nigeria. This would be no big deal, even with a deadline of next Friday, has I not had to start a new job, on Monday.
So, I had my last day and didn't even know that it was my last day until a minute after my last day was done.
Starting Monday I'll be teaching
Tomorrow I'll be covering the Northern B.C. Winter Games in Dawson Creek for Moose FM with RL, and taking picture. Should be a blast.
Sunday. Lesson Plan.
The posts will slow down for a while, but don't worry I won't forget.

sleepy, headache, fatigue.
sick.
Woke with heavy head
sat all day with heavy head
pounding head tired.
I didn't go to work today. I always go to work. Last night I went to bed at 8 and got up this morning at 10. My eyes are sore, my head, my glands, every damn thing. I don't usually get sick and when I do it doesn't last too long so hopefully by tomorrow I'll be all good.
R and I have been taking a lot of pictures and some of them, as you know, have ended up on a local radio station's website. This weekend we're off to Dawson Creek to talk pictures of the Northern BC Winter Games. As well, we'll be doing remotes for the station back in FSJ over the phone. We get our itinerary after I'm done work tomorrow (I'll pick you up after work R?). So that should be fun. Random Spontaneity is also working on slides of art for Central School which will be turned into postcards or blank cards. We're also figuring out the logistics of schooling a dance festival. How can we make money off of it and buy new PowerBooks? These are the questions worth asking.
I'm working on on the Playbill for an elementary school musical and wondering (this is a different thought and therefore should have it's own sentence but I'm trying desperately to cut down on the periods) if I should throw my name in the hat for a couple of postings for teaching in the district (here's one of them... the full time one).
I'm loving pod casting. I'm not doing it but I'm interested for sure. I mean, I'm listening, I'm just not creating, not yet. (I'm watching Seinfeld... pure gold!). My favorite so far is www.curry.com It's from Adam Curry, the creator of podcasting and a former MTV VJ (from 87 to 94). In short, you download MP3 files from blogs and then listen to them on your music players, computer, or ideally, an iPod. It's great radio in a new fresh format. A-M-Azing.
I'm also studying for my apple exams which hopefully i'll drive to Grande Prairie on Friday to take. It's so hard to study when you're sick.
If I wanted to add a picture to the right side and have the text wrap around it, what would the tag be? Anyhow?
Canadians finish the quote. "That's all for now, so until next time..."

I took maybe 20 pictures of a fire in a fire place and this one, of all of the ones, turned out fairly well.

It's been quite the weekend. I was house siting for a friend but I stayed in the house very little . I was basically there only to sleep and get the internet working.
The house has a dog, the dog's name is Zeus. Zeus is amazing. He's a rather large yellow lab retriever cross and he's well trained and well behaved. I think that the upside to having a dog is that it forces you to get outside to walk it. Otherwise you feel like you're being cruel and preventing a dog from being a dog.
I enjoyed the weekend and having some space to myself.
Friday night was nice. Saturday lunch and afternoon was great. Saturday night was excellent. Sunday morning was okay. Sunday afternoon, feeling shitty and tired.
Off to take more pictures. Of hockey this time.

P.S. I posted some other pictures from the past few days on my photostream. Check it out using the link on the right hand side on the bottom.

I'm on a roll
Four posts in one day?! This is crazy!
"The girl works at the store sweet..." finish the quote, it's from a song.
Following up on the Arrested Development quotes, here is my favorite from Gob.
That's it. For more great quotes check out the imdb quote site

Michael: So this is the Aztec Tomb trick.
Gob: Illusion, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money...

This is what the haiku refers to. See how it all makes sense when you really believe.
The pictures are now on the moose site if you have a hankering to see ice.
Now, thanks to R, here are some of the best quotes from one of the best series on TV; Arrested Development. These are Gob quotes and damn they're good.
Alright that took up the entirely of my coffee break.

repeated line
Gob: I've made a huge mistake.
as cops surround the docks and start shooting at drug dealers while fake stripper cops cower nearby
Drug Dealer: You set us up!
Gob: No! These are the strippers! Look how hot they are!
Gob: George Michael... Lets deal some drugs.
Gob: Brother? Hermano means brother? Well, sounds like Hermano is about to get his ass kicked.
Gob: Are you Hermano?
Spanish actor: Como?
Gob: You're gonna be in a como, pal!
whistling
Michael: Do you?
Gob: ...termsss... One condition and one term!
Gob has gotten George Michael to break in and steal company records
George Sr.: You got my 14-year-old grandson to do this?
Gob: Under 18 walks out clean.
Hits Gob
Prison guard: No touching!
George Sr.: You stupid ass.
after letting Gob back into the magic Alliance
Alliance member: How'd you find two Alliance-approved assistants so fast?
Gob: Oh, I just used my nephew and my girlfriend.
Alliance Member: You're out.
Gob: Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
Gob: I got great news.
Michael: Good, I could use some. I just had to convince Mom to have sex with Dad.
repulsed
Michael: What's wrong with you?
Gob: Oh, just the thought of Mom and Dad... together... I have a sense of propriety.
Gob: Yeah, the guy in the $3,000 suit is holding the elevator for the guy who doesn't make that in four months. Come on!
Alright that took up the entirely of my coffee break.

Once on a Poster
This is the poster that I created for the Central School production of the broadway classic, "Once on This Island." I'm going to be designing the play bill also and that should be fun, weeeee. Anyhow, back to work. My break is over and I have to study; damned apple exams!

A new lens means a happy boy.
I bought a new lens for my camera and it finally came in today. This, after waiting several days past when it was supposed to be delivered. I'll be talking to canada-bloody-post.
What else is new? Okay, I'll spill. Myself and R have went on several photo excursions and have a blast always. We are going to Dawson Creek next week to take pictures of the Northern B.C. Winter games. We are also going to be corespondents for the moose (a local radio station). We hope to be shooting some dance pictures and going to a wedding soon. We both have the same equipment (but the body of my camera is black and she has a 1 gig CF card); digital rebel, a 18-58mm lens and a 28-135mm lens. The next purchase will have to be a flash. You can see some of our pictures at the moose's photo site, which should be updated tonight, here.
I've also been busy with making a poster which will be on my flickr site a little later. You can see all my flickr pictures at any time atmy flickr site.
You can also check out some of the pictures from out photo excursion to Sobey's (the old IGA). R told the manager that we were there for a school project and there were no more questions from him.
So check out all my pictures and enjoy!

One of those days.
Included is a picture of a tree that I took the other day. I added some more to my flicker site also. Check everyone out at http://flickr.com/photos/wader.
Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to slam the door really really hard and then when you reach the boiling point and try to slam that door it won't; I just slowly closes? Today was one of those days.
People driving poorly, my lunch spilling out, my lens not coming in, my windshield getting splattered with rocks, un-cleared road, and the list goes on.
Our bloody town. We have all these professional ice carvers in town and the ice for them to crave was super expensive and yet we can't get the fucking roads cleared. I mean, priorities.

This is me wanting to get going.
So I'm hear at Standard Auto and it's 10:16 in the morning. I can here because I was in the neighborhood and my break is at hand. My command start, after 3 months of faithful service, isn't working as it should. The damn thing won't even unlock the car. Naturally, it's cold out.
So what to do. I stand here is a dirty shop typing a clean entry about a minor incontinence that has resulted in cold feet.
No matter. The guy's trying to figure the damn thing out and having no luck. It's not just the battery in the remote. Damn technology. I wish I had my camera.
What else? Well I have to do something with my time so that I'm not leering over the mans shoulders, but what to do? I'll describe the shop as I can't show you. The place was formally an outdoors shop that sold things for archery and other outdoor sports involving moose and geese. Then it was a flower shop. Looking around there are remnants from both and I'm stuck here wondering why they didn't paint over the sponge work, the violet coloured sponge painted walls and roofs in the back room. Needless to say, the shop (the glass shop) is a unique and eclectic mix of the old and the new. The glass and the flower. Alright, I'm ranting. Whatelse is there to talk about when you're standing in a glass shop waiting for your command start to once again roar? The "Film-On Mounting Concentrate?"
Anyhow, off to other emails. The ice carving championships are here on Saturday, I will brave the cold for the pictures; they will glimmer.

Tew Noy
Saturday. R and I go to a rehearsal for a play, This Lone Island with No Memorable Name, or something to that effect. It's an elementary musical that I have graciously (and really, I wanted to do it) volunteered to make the program for. R has a great camera, we get along swimmingly, and I need someone to laugh, or at least get, my jokes. I invited her along. I'm not using her for her camera, let us make that clear. I brought along my Canon PowerShot A70, which is, by no mean, a piece shit. It's a fairly high quality point and shoot digital camera. R brought along her Digital SLR, a Canon Rebel, with a couple of lenses and a vintage (make everything sound good that word does) tripod. For two hours we took pictures; over 300 pictures between the two of us.
Walmart.
Shooting the shit.
Buying Angels in America and conversing in an oh so hularious manner with the lady at the till.
McDonalds frys, and water (cheep, yes, but we were going out for din din and we [I perhaps?] needed something to tide me over).
Pick up pictures, exactly one hour later.
Hers, am-azing. Mine. Well (talking about the pictures here). I think that if you didn't see hers mine wouldn't have looked so bad. Really they weren't that bad at all, but in comparison it looked like I had used a tin can with a pin hole in one end and she had used the satellite in Golden Eye. On ward.
After supper we watched Cabaret. Here's the thing. It's a movie with some music in it. It is not a movie of a musical or an adaptation (really) of the musical. A lot of songs are missing. It's a movie. Anyhow, back with my camera story, stay focused Wader.
After the movie concluded (astute?) we talked about the pictures and she began teaching me all about the birds, the bees and cameras, and what f stop would be required to take a picture of a bird humping a bee with a nice depth of field (I'm paraphrasing... and making some shit up).
Sunday morning. Went to Rainbow Studio (I only buy from stores with the word rainbow, from now on), and purchased my very own brand new Canon Rebel. 6.3 megapixels and oh so sweet quality. I will post pictures but I have to find some web-space first.
Anyhow, that is my story for now.

Random, ramblings.
I'm at work right now. I had a quick lunch so that I could take some time to write on this blog but now I spent too much time reading about the new mac products that were introduced @ MWSF (MacWorld San Francisco) and I can only scribe a quick couple of words. More will flow soon though as I want to defy stereotypes and, as it were, statistics. Time magazine told me (telekinetically) that women are more likely then men to continue a blog once it's begun. I don't want to be the average Joe man, so I'm getting back on the blog wagon... or, at least I'm saying that in order to re-fuel my blogging spirit. It's not that I don't enjoy it, I just don't have time for it, it seems. This is okay, life is for living. Balance. I will leave you now, be balanced. I will talk more later, right now I'm off to the Crayon Box to look at fleece jackets for the staff. It's fucking cold.... that's when people tend to realize that their heaters aren't that good, that their block heater doesn't work, and that the clothes they have are shit against the elements. Perhaps we can style up the crew a little?
