so funny

I've seen a number of good Brokeback spoofs, but this is by far the funniest. Naturally I'm somewhat biased.

here in the airport.

It was a slow day of getting ready and was in no way rushed. I made sure to be at the airport with plenty of time to spare. I wasn't sure how exactly value park worked but knew that it would be in my best interest to be early so that I could learn. If you want to know here's the run down. First drive up to the gate. Take a tickets and the gate will magically lift. Next you'll want to find the nasty old man with bad manners in the booth. He will be short with you and expect that you know everything and that the world most certainly owes him something. We're not sure what it owes him but there must be something... probably gold. I found my spot and mere seconds later the shuttle was there to pick me up and drive me to my terminal... how handy. The driver was amicable and kind. That was the first of many employees that impressed the hell out of me. Checking-in was a breeze. I used a computer terminal to get my ticket and the ticket (boarding pass) of my fellow passenger B. Checked the bags and answered the three questions, yes, yes and naturally and of course, yes. Security was quick... kind of. There was a man that checked boarding passes to ensure that you belonged; he greeted guests with "hello, bonjour, how are you today?" Very nice, very (the fact that he looked like a hells angel said, don't mess with me and we'll be just dandy). Going through security. I have a computer and a camera. I have a coat, a scarf, a hat, and a blazer. I have stuff in my pockets. So, I had an entire line up of those little grey boxes preventing the line from moving while I reloaded and reaffixed. 7 boxes in total (pocket stuff, camera case, camera, computer, computer case, coat and scarf, blazer and had).

B. and I went inside the terminal and decided that a strong coffee was in high order. I had a shitty sleep last night and she had almost none. She got some caramel concoction (my recommendation, and she liked it, though she doesn't really like coffee) and I went with the Vanilla bean latte. I mentioned this only because I think that if one is spending time in the airport they should make themselves part of the environment (when in Rome). So conversely, if one is in a Greyhound station, you should soak yourself in Urine, stain your shirt with a variety of condiments, and develop a severe cough (inhale an entire stogie the night before if you can't fake it; stress in hale, don't just smoke it. The great thing about the stogie is that you might also get lucky and upset your stomach so much that you can vomit all over yourself, this is the best way to get your own seat.). Today I'm an aspiring writer/photographer, writing a story about the valley of the shadow of death for Times (I'm not sure which one yet, but if asked I'm sure that I could quickly improvise.).

Okay... That was wrote yesterday and perhaps I'll write more, perhaps not... I just needed something to pass the time.

a couple thing that I can't do without

I love Steve Martin and have been waiting for a very long time for him to be back on Saturday Night Live. On February 4th he'll be back on the show for the 14th time. It's the only SNL in February so hopefully it'll be good. Prince will perform.

In other news add thisto your Christmas lists. The George Foreman USB iGrill. That's right.

what i've been up to

While while. It's been too long since my last post and frankly I have no excuse. I've been out of work (for the first time in my life) and have been lounging around and going for coffee for the last couple of weeks.

The job search is going okay; there are a number of opportunities and I haven't said no to anything (minus a job with Second Cup). Every interview is an opportunity and it helps me become better at them. I really wish that everything moved as fast as the world of e. We have e (electronic) everything and anything we need (almost) can be instantly gratified; but not jobs. This is something that we, as a society simply aren't conditioned for. The job search takes work, time, diligence, and dedication. Fingers remain crossed for the time being.

Other then that, I'm set up for life here in Edmonton, things are well, and I hope that, more and more, I'm able to stay.

I have been on a couple of dates this week too and that feels good. It's good to feel wanted and to meet new people (impressing them with my bravado?). I like to challenge myself and I feel that, even though it seems that I'm just sitting on my ass, I am doing that.

Anyhow, A. is cooking dinner and I'm already late so I must be off. Ciao.
